- How it counts
- X counts every link as 23 characters and most emoji as 2, so its number can differ from the plain count.
- Bluesky counts an emoji as one character, even one made of several parts.
- The limits are the ones Fuxux checks when it publishes. Nothing you type leaves your browser.
One character counter for every social platform
Most character counters give you one number. That number is right for a text box and wrong for a social post, because the platforms do not count the same way. X counts every link as 23 characters whatever its real length and counts most emoji as 2. Bluesky counts an emoji as a single character even when it is built from several. Instagram, LinkedIn and Threads count the way a normal text field does.
Paste your post above and the counter applies each platform's own rule and its own limit at the same time: 280 on X, 300 on Bluesky, 500 on Threads, 2,200 on Instagram, 3,000 on LinkedIn, and so on down the list. You see at a glance where the text fits as written and where it needs trimming, which is the real question when one idea is going to several networks.
The limits are the same ones Fuxux checks before it publishes a scheduled post, so a post that fits here will not be cut off or refused later.

FAQ
Why does X show a different count from other platforms?
X weighs characters instead of counting them one by one. Letters, digits and common punctuation count 1, most emoji and characters from languages such as Chinese or Japanese count 2, and any link counts 23 regardless of its length. The counter applies those rules to the X row only.
Do spaces and line breaks count as characters?
Yes. Every platform in the list counts spaces and line breaks toward its limit. The "Without spaces" figure is there for briefs and forms that ask for it, not for social posts.
Do hashtags and mentions count toward the limit?
Yes, each character of a hashtag or mention counts like any other, including the # or @ sign. The tool also tells you how many hashtags and mentions the text contains.
Is my text stored anywhere?
No. The counting happens in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, saved or sent to a server.
What is the character limit for each platform?
For posts: X 280, Bluesky 300, Threads 500, Instagram captions 2,200, LinkedIn 3,000, Discord messages 2,000, YouTube descriptions 5,000 and Facebook posts 63,206. Stream titles on Twitch and Kick are 140.
