Schedule social media posts from Cursor

Ship a feature, then announce it from the same window. Add Fuxux to Cursor and the agent can draft posts from your changes, save them as drafts or schedule them to 12 platforms.

Add Fuxux to Cursor

Cursor connects to Fuxux with an API key.

  1. 1

    Create a Fuxux API key

    Connect your social accounts in Fuxux, then create a key on the API keys page. Keys come with the API add-on ($5/month on any paid plan).

  2. 2

    Put the key in an environment variable

    Cursor fills in ${env:NAME} in mcp.json, so the key itself never sits in a config file. Restart Cursor after setting it.

    FUXUX_API_KEY=fx_live_your_key_here
  3. 3

    Add the server

    Use the Add to Cursor button on this page, or put this in ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or a project's .cursor/mcp.json).

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "fuxux": {
          "url": "https://www.fuxux.com/api/mcp",
          "headers": {
            "Authorization": "Bearer ${env:FUXUX_API_KEY}"
          }
        }
      }
    }
  4. 4

    Try it

    In the agent panel, ask "list my connected accounts in Fuxux". If it answers with your accounts, you are connected.

Things to ask Cursor

  • “Draft a LinkedIn post about the feature in this branch and save it as a draft in Fuxux.”
  • “What do I have scheduled in Fuxux this week, and did anything fail?”
  • “Schedule this announcement to Bluesky and Threads for tomorrow at 9 am my time.”
  • “Move Friday's LinkedIn post to Monday at 10 am.”

Cursor FAQ

Does it work on the Fuxux Free plan?

Not from Cursor. An API key needs a paid Fuxux plan with the API add-on ($5/month). Keys start with fx_live_, are shown once, and work until you revoke them. Signing in without a key works in Claude, Claude Code and ChatGPT on every plan, including Free.

Can I sign in instead of using a key?

Not in Cursor yet. Cursor connects to Fuxux with an API key.

Which tools does Cursor get?

Eight: whoami, list connected accounts, dashboard, and list, get, create, update and delete posts. Creating a post can publish it now, schedule it, or save it as a draft.

Can the agent post without asking me?

It can publish, because publishing is one of the tools. If you want to approve everything first, tell it to "always save posts as drafts", then review and schedule them in your Fuxux calendar.

How do I remove its access?

Revoke the key on the API keys page in Fuxux. It stops working straight away.
